It was 2013, and Ailafo’s team from Ten Thousand Homes had been in South Africa for 3 months and Eswatini for 1 month. Then, it was time to head to Malawi – but what lay between them and their destination was a 36-hour bus ride. The 4 things they knew were:
1. It would be long.
2. It was safe.
3. Dinner would be served on the bus.
4. There would be 3-4 breaks along the way.
As with all good stories, things didn’t quite go to plan.
