i started a fundraiser…now what?

Well, first of all, you are a legend! Thank you for rallying your community to provide housing and nutrition for vulnerable children and families. So start off with some confidence, knowing that you are making the world a better place.
Here are a few tips for smashing your fundraising goal:

1. tell your people.

This might sound basic, but it’s super important! Spread the word about your fundraiser by sending messages to family and friends, posting on social media, sending emails, or telling them in person. Make sure you include the link to your unique fundraising page so that people know how to donate to your fundraiser!

Bonus tip: Try sharing about your fundraiser in more than one way. The more places you share about your fundraiser, the more visibility it’ll get. And the more visibility it gets, the more opportunities people have to join you!

2. be specific.

When sharing about your fundraiser, it’s helpful to be specific and tell people why you are doing it, what your goal is, and why you are choosing to partner with Ten Thousand Homes.

You can also get creative and invite people to donate a specific amount. Are you turning 32? Invite people to give $32! Maybe you’re running a marathon – ask people to donate $26 for a dollar a mile.

3. share regular updates.

Sharing regular text, video, or photo updates on social media about the progress of your fundraiser will help you gain traction and fundraise more. And don’t forget to include your fundraiser link in every update for those who want to donate!

To check your fundraiser’s progress, refer to the progress bar located towards the top of the donation form on your fundraiser’s page.

4. celebrate!

Here at Ten Thousand Homes, we LOVE to celebrate (even the little things), and it’s a great fundraising tool too. Did your fundraiser just hit a new milestone – 25% or maybe even 125%? AMAZING! Turn on your favorite music and do a happy dance. It’s good for morale…and it’s just fun. And then make sure to tell your people so they can celebrate with you (sharing a video of you doing the happy dance is optional).
